A Funny from Caden

So last week Caden was getting ready for school and eating his breakfast. (I was at the gym while Adam was on breakfast duty, so this story is told to me by Adam). He was eating his cereal when he told Adam, "Dad, this tastes like throw up"! Adam checked the milk and sure enough, it was past due. I just thought the way Caden said it was funny. So just a reminder to always check the due date on your milk!! Ugh!

Star Student Award

On Friday, Caden was recognized in the Star Assembly for being a star student by displaying the characteristic trait of cooperation in the classroom. It was a family affair ~ as we went to see his big debut. He didn't know he was going to be recognized. Glad he wore his long sleeves! (sorry for the dark pic?)

Blog Worthy Day!

This morning started out with a BIG surprise!
Caden told me that he wanted to wear a long sleeve shirt under his short sleeve shirt!. I gasped in disbelief. What? Long sleeves? For those those of you who know Caden well know that for YEARS this kid has never wanted to wear long sleeves or a jacket, or a coat because he claims he is never cold. Recently the weather has been freezing in the teens and he gave me this announcement this morning. Unfortunately I had to tell him that because he has thrown so many tantrums over long sleeves, I have never bought any. Just then I remembered a shirt I bought long ago on a great clearance sale in the hopes that one day he would change his mind. It was in Tanner's closet. I raced upstairs hoping he wouldn't change his mind while entertaining the thought. Sure enough it fit! It didn't quite match the other shirt, but I didn't bother making him change because it was too good to be true. He told me that his friends in class wear long sleeves like this, so he wanted to try it out! Allelujah! Who knows.... maybe Santa will be taking note of this request! Just for the sake of record keeping I took a picture since it has been a LONG time since he's worn one!

And this tough guy had his kindergarten immunizations today. He got poked 4 times today, but he didn't even cry!! He was sooo brave. I was really proud of the little guy. He's a tough one. Here's a famous pose of Tan the Man. Nice face, huh?

Joggerthon

Two weeks ago Caden's class had a joggerthon. Each student was encouraged to run or walk around the track as many times as they could during their alloted time (to earn $ for pledges). Each time they completed a lap, they got a slash mark on their sticker on their back. Little speedy gonzales completed 15 laps! Tanner and I were on the sidelines cheering him on!

Hop in Baby, Let's Go!

So our new neighbors have a 5 year old girl Ali. She brought her car over and asked the boys if they wanted a ride. Of course they were in heaven being able to drive themselves. The only catch was it was a pink mustang -- granted that didn't stop them!!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy CaDeN!!

So Mr. Caden had a birthday yesterday! We celebrated together as a family and he opened presents before Adam had to go to work. Cades didn't have school, so he was able to stay home and enjoy his new presents!

We used some pizza coupons and went out to lunch. Soon after we got home, he had a surprise visit from Ben and his family from Kuna. We had birthday cake and ice cream and they all enjoyed playing together.

Happy Birthday Cades - Love ya!

1st GRADE!

So today was the BIG day for all of us!

Caden is now in 1st grade! I couldn't believe this day finally came. He was so excited to go and was really looking forward to......... eating in the cafeteria! Not so much excited about their food, but excited that he could take his NEW lunch bag with his cold lunch to school!! He's funny!

So when I picked him up today I asked him what his favorite thing is about 1st grade and he said....... yep, you guessed it -- eating in the cafeteria!! I guess there's something about eating your familiar food in a new place! His second favorite was having lots of recesses!

Here's a picture of Caden and Brooke. She's in our ward and they were in the same kindergarten class together. They are so cute!

Here's to a new lunch bag, having THREE recesses (instead of 1), and eating in the cafeteria!

I love you Cades! :)
